Personal evangelism leads to establishing the local Churches and is God’s movement among men and women and boys and girls to bring them to a knowledge of the Lord Jesus as their Savior and Lord and to unite the believers together according to God’s Word, to be a local church of God in the area where they live.

An excerpt from a Bible study (CHRISTIAN DUTIES – Part 4)

(III.) MY RESPONSIBILITY… TOWARDS HIS (CHRIST’S) LOCAL CHURCH – (Heb. 10:25).

1. Introduction:

It is a privilege and joy to be a part of God’s program for this age which centers in the local assembly of believers. May I never despise or forsake God’s assembly in my locality. May I be fully committed to my Lord and thus to His Church.

John (2:16) Acts 2:42; 4:31-32; 10:33; 11:26; 12:5; 12:12; 14:27; 20:7; Romans 12:4-8; 15:5-6; 16:1; 1 Cor. 1:10; 3:16-17; 10:32; 11:2; 11:17-34; 12:12-31; Eph. (1:22-23; 2:19-22) 4:3-6; 4:11-16; Phil. (1:27; 2:2-3) Col. (2:2) 3:15; 1 Tim. (3:9) 3:15; Heb. 10:25; 1 Pet. 3:8; 4:10-11; 1 John 2:19.

2. THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE LOCAL CHURCH (Eph. 5:24).

The local assembly of believers is to function according to the pattern and blueprint found in the New Testament epistles. As the body of believers is healthy the life of Christ will be manifested and God will be glorified.

Acts 2:42; 1 Cor. chapter 5; 6:1-8; 14:23-26; 14:40; Eph. 3:10 (3:21) 4:11-16; 5:24; Col. 1:18; (2:2) 2:5; 1 Thess. 1:7-8; 1 Tim. 3:15; 5:19-21; 1 Pet. 2:5; Jude 3; Rev. chapters 2-3.

3.MY RESPONSIBILITY…TO MY PASTOR AND CHURCH LEADERS (1 Thes. 5:12-13).

Am I thankful for the gifted men God has given to me (Eph. 4:11)? Am I submitting to my leaders, setting a high value on them because of the work Christ has given them to do? Do I cause them GRIEF or JOY (Heb. 13:17)?

Matthew (10:10; 10:40-42) Luke (10:7) Acts (6:1-4; 14:23) 15:40; 21:17; Romans (16:1-2) 16:4,6,9; 1 Cor. 4:16; 9:6-14; 11:1; 16:15-16; 2 Cor. 6:11-13 (7:2; 8:7) Gal. (4:12; 4:14-15) 6:6; Phil. (2:17-18; 2:29-30) 4:9; 4:10-19; Col. 4:3-4; 1 Thess. 1:6; 4:1-3; 5:12-13; 5:25; 2 Thess. 2:15; 3:1-2; 3:4; 3:6-7; 3:14; 1 Tim. 5:17-18; 5:19; 2 Tim. (1:16-18) Heb. 13:7; 13:17; 13:22; James 5:14.

4. THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE PASTOR AND LOCAL CHURCH LEADERS (Heb. 13:17).

The great Shepherd of the flock has set over His loyal assembly certain faithful men and has entrusted them with shepherding duties. The responsibilities are awesome but God is totally sufficient.

Matthew (7:15) 28:19-20; Luke 22:32; John 21:15-17; Acts 6:1-4; 11:25-26; 14:21-22; 15:32,35,36,41; 18:11; 20:2; 20:7; 20:9; 20:17-35; Romans 1:11; (1:21-22) 1 Cor. 1:17; 1:21; 1:23; 2:1-7; 4:1-2

5. MY RESPONSIBILITY… TOWARDS FALSE TEACHING AND FALSE TEACHERS ( 1 John 4:1).

False doctrine is the poison of the soul. It must ever be exposed by the light of God’s truth. It must never be tolerated. “Truth cannot be perpetuated through compromise and compromise cannot be avoided without separation” (John C. Whitcomb).

Matthew 7:15; 15:13-14; 16:6-12 (23:13-33) 24:4-5; 24:11; 24:23-26; Mark 8:15; 12:38-40; 13:5-6; 13:21-23; Luke 6:39 (11:37-54) 12:1; 20:46-47; 21:8; John 10:8,10; Acts 20:28-31; Romans 16:17-18;

6. MY RESPONSIBILITY… WITH RESPECT TO MY COUNTRY, MY GOVERNMENT AND RULERS (Rom. 13:1).

God Almighty is my King and as I gladly submit to His government I also learn to submit to those earthly authorities who have been placed over me by my Sovereign Lord.

Matthew 14:3-4; 17:24-27; 22:17-21; Mark 6:17-18; 12:14-17; Luke 20:22-25; Acts 4:18-20; 5:24-29; 23:2-5; Romans 13:1-8; Phil. (3:20);

MAN-WARD RESPONSIBILITIES

An excerpt from a Bible study (CHRISTIAN DUTIES – Part 3)

(II.) MAN-WARD RESPONSIBILITIES

“AND THE SECOND IS LIKE IT, THOU SHALT LOVE THY NEIGHBOR AS THYSELF.” (Mat. 22:39)

1. MY RESPONSIBILITY… Towards others—towards my brother, my neighbor, etc. (Mat. 22:39). The greatest is not, “Who is my neighbor?” but rather “Who can I be a neighbor to?” May God help me to be sensitive to the real needs of those around me.

Matthew 5:22-26; 5:37; 5:38-42; 7:1-5; 7:12; 18:21-35; 19:17-19; 20:26-28; 22:39; 23:11; Mark 9:35; 10:19; 10:43-45; 11:25-26; 12:31,33; Luke 3:14; 6:30-31; 6:37; 6:38; 1.

2. MY RESPONSIBILITY… TOWARDS ALL MEN (Gal. 6:10). As God is concerned for all men (1 Timothy 2:4; John 3:16), so may I share this godly love and concern for all who cross my path.

Matthew (5:16) 28:19; Mark 16:15; Acts (1:8) 24:16; Romans 12:17-18; 1 Cor. 9:19-23; 10:31-32; 2 Cor. (5:20); Gal. 6:10; Phil. (2:15) 4:5; Col. (4:5) 1 Thess. 3:12; 4:12; 4:14; 5:15; 1 Tim. 2:1; 3:7; 2 Tim. 2:24; Tit. 3:2; Heb. 12:14; 1 Pet. 2:17; 3 John 12. 2.

3. MY RESPONSIBILITY… TOWARDS THOSE OUTSIDE CHRIST (Col. 4:5-6). My fervent desire is to know Christ and to make Him known to others. May the beauty of the Lord rest upon me and may the life of the Lord be manifested. Of myself I am nothing, but I have a great Saviour and I’m proud of Him! I want others to know about HIS WORTH (who He is), HIS WORK (what He has done) and HIS WORD (what He has said).

Matthew 4:19; 5:13-16; 7:6; 9:36-38; Mark 1:17 10:14 (13:9; 14:9) 16:15; 16:20; Luke 5:10; 5:29-32; 3..

4. MY RESPONSIBILITY TOWARDS WIDOWS, THE POOR, NEEDY, SICK, ETC. (James 1: 27). May those who are poor and needy know that there is a great God who is rich for their poverty and sufficient for their every need.

Matthew 6:1-4; 19:21 (25:34-45) 26:9-12; Mark (10:21; 12:40) 14:3-7; Luke 3:11; 4:18; 4.4. 4.

5. MY RESPONSIBILITY TOWARDS THE WIDOWS (1 Tim. 5:5). May those who have lost their husbands not lose their love and zeal for their Savior. May they be widows indeed! May they remember that they are married to the risen Christ (Romans 7:14).

Luke 2:37 (9:36-39) 1 Timothy chapter 5. 5.

6. MY RESPONSIBILITY… TOWARDS FELLOW BELIEVERS (Heb. 10:24-25). It’s a joy to be a part of the family of God and a member of Christ’s body. I need my brothers and sisters in Christ and they need me. May I encourage and edify and exhort the brethren daily.

Matthew 10:40-42; 20:25-28; 23:11 (25:34-45) Mark 9:35; 9:38-41; 10:43-45; Luke 9:49-50; 22:26-27; John (13:14) 13:34; 15:12-13; 15:17 (21:21-22) Acts 4:31-32; Romans 12:9-10; 12:13; 12:15-16; 12:18; 13:8; 14:1-7; 14:10-23; 15:1-3; 15:5-7; 15:14; 16:1-2; 1 Cor. 1:10; 4:6-7;

7. TOWARDS THOSE WHO PERSECUTE ME (Mat. 5:44). • TOWARDS THOSE WHO WRONG ME (Rom. 12:21) • TOWARDS THOSE WHO SIN AGAINST ME (Luke 17:3). I have a great High Priest who was without sin, yet He fully experienced persecution and suffering “without a cause”. May He teach me how to love my enemies and forgive the ungodly, remembering that He loved and forgave even me (Romans 5:6,8,10; Ephesians 4:32).

Matthew 5:10-12; 5:39; 5:44-48; 6:14-15 (10:14) 10:16; 10:26; 10:28; 18:15-17 Mark (6:11) 11:25-26 (13:9; 13:11) Luke 6:22-23; 6:27-29; 6:32-36;

8. MY RESPONSIBILITY…TOWARDS MY MARRIAGE PARTNER (Mat.19:5-6). Just as God is married to the true believer (Rom. 7:4) and His love never comes to an end (Rom. 8:39), so am I married to my spouse. May my marriage picture this relationship and may I remain loyal to my partner until we are parted by death or until the Lord Jesus comes.

Matthew 5:27-28; 5:32 (14:3-4) 19:3-10; Mark 10:2-12; Luke 16:18; John (4:17-18) Romans 7:1-3 (13:13) 1 Cor. 6:15-18; 7:3-5; 7:10-11; 7:12-16; Eph. 4:26; James 2:11.

9. THE RESPONSIBILITY OF HUSBANDS (Eph. 5:25). As I observe the godly husband I am seeing a picture of Christ’s sacrificial love for His Church.

Mark 10:11; Luke 16:18; 1 Cor. 7:3-5; 7:11; 7:12-16; 7:27; 7:33; 11:3-16; 16:13; Eph. 5:25-33; Col. 3:19; 1 Tim. 2:8; 3:2; 3:4-5; 3:12; 1 Tim. 5:8; Tit. 1:6; 3:2; 3:6-8; 1 Pet. 3:7.

10. THE RESPONSIBILTY OF WIVES ( Eph. 5:24). As I observe the godly wife, I am seeing a picture of how I should submit and respond to the Lord Jesus Christ.

Mark 10:12; John (4:16-18) Rom. 7:1-3; 1 Cor. 7:3-5; 7:10-11; 7:13-16; 7:34; 7:39-40; 11:3-16; 14:34-35; Eph. 5:22-24; 5:33; Col. 3:18; 1 Tim. 2:9-15; 3:11; 5:9; 5:10; 5:14; 2 Tim. (1:5) Tit. 3:3-5; 1 Pet. 3:1-6.

11. THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THOSE WHO ARE UNMARRIED (SINGLE) (1 Cor. 7:32,34). The unmarried person is to be concerned about the things of the Lord-enjoying Him, pleasing Him, giving Him first place. God can take care of my needs for companionship in His way and in His time. As for now, He is the only intimate Companion I need.

Matthew 19:10-12; Rom. 13:13-14; 1 Cor. 6:18-20; 7:1-9; 7:25-37; 2 Cor. 6:14-17; Eph. 5:3; Col. 3:5; 1 Thess. 4:3-5; 1 Tim. 5:14 (5:22) 2 Tim. 2:22; Rev. (14:4).

12. MY RESPONSIBILITY…TOWARDS PARENTS (Eph. 6:1-2). God has given me parents so that I might begin to learn reverence and obedience. May I never cease to honor and obey my Heavenly Father (Mal. 1:6).

Matthew 15:4-6; Mark 7:10-13; 10:7; Luke 2:51; John (19:26-27) Romans (1:30) Eph. 6:1-3; Col. 3:20; 1 Tim. 5:4; 5:8; 2 Tim. (3:2) Tit. l:6; 1 Pet. (1:14).

13. MY RESPONSIBILITY…TOWARDS CHILDREN (Eph. 6:4) What a privilege to bring little ones to the Saviour and to the truth of God’s Word. May I not hinder them in any way. Matthew 19:14; Mark 10:14; Luke 11:13; 18:15-16; 2 Cor. (12:14) Eph. 6:4; Co1. 3:21; 1 Tim. 3:4-5; 3:12; 5:8; 5:10; 2 Tim. (1:5); Tit. 1:6; 2:4.

14. MY RESPONSIBILITY… TOWARDS MY EMPLOYER (BOSS) (Col. 3:22-24). The Lord is the One for whom I work. As I serve my Heavenly Master I will also please my earthly master. May I work hard and do the best job I can possibly do for the glory of God.

Luke 3:14 (13:14) 17:7-10; 1 Cor. (4:12) Eph. 4:28; 6:5-8; Col. 3:17; 3:22-25; 1 Thess. 4:11; 2 Thess. 3:6-15; 1 Tim. 5:8; 6:1-2; Tit. 2:9-10; 1 Pet. 2:18-19.

13. THE RESPONSIBILITY OF EMPLOYERS TOWARDS WORKERS (Col. 4:1).

As a believing employer, may I never forget that I also have a Master and Lord who is over me and before whom I am accountable.(Eph. 6:9; Col. 4:1).

Matthew 6:33 (11:6) 12:30; 15:8; 22:21; Mark 7:6; 12:17; Luke 2:49 (7:23) 10:16; 11:2; 11:23; 12:31; 20:25; John 5:23 (8:49-50) Romans 1:21; Phil. 2:21; 3:7-10; Col. 1:18; 3:17; 3:22; 1 Tim. 6:1; 1 Peter (2:13) 3:15; 1 John (5:21) Rev. 3:8.

5. I AM RESPONSIBLE…TO BLESS HIM (Luke 24:53 Key verse).

From my heart and with my lips I must speak well of God, ever blessing the One who has so blessed me (Ephesians 1:3).

Luke 2:28; 7:29; 13:35; 24:53; Eph. (1:3) 1 Pet. (1:3).

6. I AM RESPONSIBLE… TO THANK HIM (1 Thes. 5:18 Key verse).

I can be thankful for all things because my God is working all things together for His glory and my good. True thanksgiving should manifest itself in “thanks-living”. Most of all I am thankful for the gift of God’s abundant grace in the Person of Jesus Christ (2 Cor. 9:15).

Luke (2:38) 17:16; Rom. l:21; 6:17; 2 Cor. 2:14; 4:15; 8:16; 9:11; 9:15; Eph. 5:4; 5:20; Phil. 1:3; 4:6; Col. 1:12; 2:7; 3:17; 4:2; 1 Thess. 1:2; 3:9; 5:18; 2 Thess. 1:3; 1 Tim. 1:12; Philemon 4; Heb. 13:15; Rev. 11:17.

7. I AM RESPONSIBLE…TO SERVE HIM (Acts 20:19 [Key verse]).

As a believer I am free to serve Christ. What a wonderful slavery!

(1:1; 7:15; 19:5).

8. I AM RESPONSIBLE… TO LOVE HIM (1 Peter 1:8 [Key verse]).

Before I ever loved Him, He first loved me, even when I was dead in sin. I demonstrate my love for Him by keeping His commandments. Faith is the root, love is the fruit (Gal. 5:6).

Matthew 10:37; 22:36-38; Mark 12:29-30;, 12:33; Luke (7:44-47) 10:27; 11:42; John 8:42; 14:15; 14:21-24; 16:27; 21:15-17; 1 Cor. 8:3 (10:7; 10:14) 16:22; Eph. 6:24; 2 Thess. (3:5); 2 Tim. 3:4; James 1:12; 1 Pet. 1:8; 1 John (2:15); 4:19; 5:2 (5:2); Rev. (2:4).

9. I AM RESPONSIBLE… TO OBEY HIM (John 14:15 [Key verse]).

God is so great that to disobey Him is unthinkable. Obedience is the very best way to show that I believe. Obedience is love in action.

Luke (1:6; 2:39) 6:37-49; 9:35; 17:9-10; John 2:5; 14:15; 14:21-23; 15:9-10; Acts 4:19; 5:29; 7:37; 9:6; 1 Cor. 7:19; 2 Cor. 2:9; 10:5; Gal. 5:7; Eph. 6:5; Col. 3:22-23; 1 Pet. 1:14; 1 John 2:3-5; 3:22; 5:2-3; Rev. 1:3; 3:8; 3:10; 14:12; 22:7; 22:9; 22:14.

10. I AM RESPONSIBLE… TO PLEASE HIM (Eph. 5:10 [key verse]).

“I ask no other sunshine than the sunshine of His face.” God is working in me that which is well pleasing in His sight!

John (8:29); l Cor. 7:32; 7:34; 2 Cor. 5:9; Gal. 1:10; Eph. 5:10; 6:6-7; Phil. 3:8; Col. 1:10; 3:20; 3:22-23; 1 Thess. 2:4; 4:1; 2 Tim. 2:4; Heb. 11:5-6; 13:18; 13:21; 1 John 3:22.

11. I AM RESPONSIBLE… TO CONFESS HIM (Mat. 10:32 [Key verse]).

The redeemed of the Lord need to say so. With our heart and with our lips we agree with God that Jesus Christ is Lord and that He is the only Savior.

Matthew 10:32; Mark 8:38; Luke 9:26; 12:8-9; Romans l0:9-10; 1 Timothy 6:12

12. I AM RESPONSIBLE… TO REFLECT HIM (SHINE FOR HIM) (2 Cor. 3:18 [Key verse]).

May the beauty of the Lord Jesus be seen in my life. The world must not see the ugliness of self and sin. As a child of God I bear the family likeness (1 John 2:29).

Matthew 5:16; John 3:30; Acts 4:13; 1 Cor. 15:49; 2 Cor. 3:18; Eph. 5:1; Phil. 2:15; 1 Pet. 2:9; 1 John 2:6.

13. I AM RESPONSIBLE… TO TRUST HIM (2 Cor. 5:7 [Key verse]).

Faith is the key to the Christian life. I was saved by faith and so I must live. Faith lays hold of the facts in God’s Word and makes them real in my experience.

Matthew 4:7; 6:25-34 (14:27-31); Mark 5:36; 11:22; Luke 4:12; 8:24-25; 8:50; 12:7; John 6:20; 14:1; 14:27; Romans 4:20-21; 14:22-23; 15:13; 1 Cor. 10:10; 2 Cor. 1:9; 3:4; 4:13; 5:7; Gal. 2:20; 5:5-6; Eph. 1:15; 3:17; 6:16; Phil. 2:24; 3:3; 4:6; Col. 1:4; 2:5-6; 1 Thess. 1:3; 1:8; 5:8; 2 Thess. 1:3; 1 Tim. 1:5; 1:19; 6:11; 6:17; 2 Tim. 2:22; 3:10; Philemon 5; Heb. 14. I AM RESPONSIBLE… TO FEAR HIM (Heb. 12:28 [Key word]).

Those who fear God need fear nothing else. May I be terribly afraid of doing anything that would displease Him! May my conduct ever be affected by the consciousness of His Person and Presence.

Matthew 10:28; Mark (12:6) Luke 1:50; 12:4-5 (20:13) Acts 9:31; Romans 3:18 (11:20) 2 Cor. 7:1; Eph. (5:4) 5:21 (6:5) Phil. 2:12-13; Col. 3:22; Heb. 4:1; 12:28; 1 Pet. 1:17; 2:17; 3:15; Rev. 14:7; 15:4; 19:5.

15. I AM RESPONSIBLE… TO REPENT (Rev. 3:19 [Key verse])

The person who is not walking in a manner worthy of Jesus Christ is in need of a genuine change of mind and heart and direction.

Luke (22:31-32) 2 Cor. 7:9-10; Rev. 2:5; 3:3; 3:19.

*Note: The responsibility of the unsaved man to repent will be covered under the category THE UNSAVED PERSON’S RESPONSIBILITY BEFORE GOD“.

16. I AM RESPONSIBLE… TO FOLLOW HIM (John 8:31-32 [Key verse]).

The demands of discipleship are great. I have decided to follow Jesus and there is no turning back. I will sit at His feet, hear His Word, worship and follow Him!

Matthew (4:19-22; 8:19-22; 9:9) 10:37-39; 11:28-30; 16:24-25; 19:27; Mark 1:17 (2:14) 8:34-35; 10:28-30; Luke (5:11; 5:27-28) 9:23-25; 9:57-62; 14:26-33; 17:33 (18:22; 18:28-29) John (1:37) 8:31-32; 21:19; 21:22; Acts 9:6; Phil. 3:7-14; Rev. (14:4).

17. I AM RESPONSIBLE… TO FELLOWSHIP WITH HIM (JOHN 15:4-5 [Key verse]).

I can enjoy the life that I have in Christ. God has called me unto Himself that I might know Him and walk with Him and enjoy His presence.

18. I AM RESPONSIBLE… TO REJOICE IN HIM (Phil. 4:4 [Key Verse]).

Regardless of my circumstances, I can delight myself in the Lord, knowing that He is working out His purpose to conform me to the image of His Son.

19. I AM RESPONSIBLE… TO REST IN HIM (Mat. 11:28-30 [Key Verse]).

I can cease from my own lifeless works and I can rest in a great God who works in me.

Matthew 11:28-30; Hebrews 4:9-11.

20. I AM RESPONSIBLE… TO LIVE FOR HIM (WALK WITH HIM) (2 Cor. 5:15).

I once lived for self but the cross has brought an end to that. Christ is now my life. In His life I live (in His death I died), all for His glory.

An excerpt from a Bible Study (CHRISTIAN DUTIES).

Please note:

In this Lesson, we have not attempted to give a prosy kind of guidance. Instead, only a skeleton outline has been presented so that the Student may read the scriptures for himself or herself and write in the prosy style if he or she so desires. The work involved has been immense and therefore it has been thought unwise to write a prosy kind of a lesson as it would have been very long. So many scriptures have been given so as to be thorough. However, several may have been overlooked due to human weaknesses and frailty. Also, some may have been misplaced. Please, do kindly correct the errors that might have been made unintentionally.

INTRODUCTION:

When God’s Word is abiding in the believer, his attitude is always: “The Lord lives in me!”. This attitude is imprinted in the heart of the believer by the Holy Ghost. The Word of God is written in the heart by the Holy Ghost and as Jesus said, “I am the Life”, so the Word of God is made alive and is seen at work in the life of the believer.
John 15:7; Colossians 3:16; 1 John 2:14; Psalm 119:11; Jeremiah 20:9;
(contrast: John 5:38) The believer, abiding in God’s Word has this attitude : “I live through Christ”. He has been enabled by the Holy Ghost to die to self and live only through the Word of God. In every aspect of his life, only the word of God is seen in action. Fulfilling the word of the Lord makes us the living epistles ( John 8:31; 2 Timothy 3:14; 2 Timothy 2:15; Psalm 1:2-3; Psalm 119:97).

“Moreover it is REQUIRED in stewards, that a man be found FAITHFUL” (1 Corinthians 4:2).

We are living in a day that is marked by UNFAITHFULNESS. The mystery of LAWLESSNESS is already working (2 Thes. 2:7) and this condition of total disrespect for God’s requirements will continue until the Lord returns (Luke 18:18).

INFIDELITY is rampant, not only with respect to marital obligations, but with respect to any moral obligations. It is a day when men cannot be counted on or trusted for anything. It seems that the only sure thing you can count on is that men will be unfaithful, and this problem is not found exclusively among those outside of Christ. Many of those who name the name of Christ are also among the unfaithful. In this age or in any age, it is a very rare thing to find a faithful man:

“Help, LORD; for the godly man ceaseth; for the faithful fail from among the children of men.”

(Psalm 12:1).

Everyone of us shall someday give account to God. The issue then will not be how FAMOUS or FLAMBOYANT (showy) or FLASHY (outwardly successful) we were, but how FAITHFUL we were:

“Well done, thou good and FAITHFUL servant: thou hast been FAITHFUL over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things.” (Matt. 25:21).

A faithful person is the person who fulfills a given responsibility and who rightfully carries out an obligation or duty. The believer desires to please His Saviour and be faithful to Him. In order to find my God-given responsibilities and duties, I must go to the pages of God’s Word, the Holy Bible.

Many unsaved people know what is required of them by God since many of them attend some denomination but they are totally frustrated by their continual failure to perform that which they know they should do.

“For what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I…for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.” (Romans 7:15-18).

God must bring us to the point where we realize that in and of ourselves we do not have what it takes to be faithful.

The Lord Jesus Christ is the only SOURCE of a faithful life and an obedient life. He is our LIFE (Col. 3:1-4) and He is our VINE (John 15:1-7). Apart from Him we are totally unfaithful (John 15:5) but in Him we have all the resources that we need to fulfill our duties and keep His commandments (Phil. 4:13; 2:13; Hebrews 13:20-21; 1 Thess. 4:8; 1 Cor. 15:10; Col. 1:29). It’s His sa1vation, it’s His life, it’s His working, it’s His power, it’s His grace and He gets all the glory! Every believer should honestly confess the following: “I acknowledge that, of myself, I am totally unable to fulfill my God-given responsibilities and duties, but I TRUST, even as my Lord Jesus has commanded in His Word that I should do these things, that He will by His grace enable me to do them. I am trusting the LIFE and POWER of the RISEN CHRIST to work in me mightily.”

The believer finds great comfort and encouragement when he remembers that the Christ who lives in Him IS FAITHFUL (see Hebrews 3:l-2). My faithful Saviour can live out His life in me. Jesus never fails!

The meeting was held August 19-20, 2009

This report is humbly and prayerfully submitted for the glory of God and is not meant to lift any man or any group. With the Dear Lord reigning in our life, our whole being is radiant with the heavenly glory

“And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one” (John 17:22).

Oh, what a wonderful work of grace, this is !!. In Him, we are satisfied. Through Him we as the ONE church have the radiance like the crowd of glory Isaiah talks about (Isa. 4:5). Praise the Lord, for the glory of holiness that is expressed by our love for each other, our peaceful cohesive co-existence, our joy in the Lord, and all we are through Him !!

CONSECRTATION: By Bro. Eliud Muriuki Sammy

A summary of Bro. Eliud’s message:

Bro. Eliud and his wonderful family. Please, pray for them

Bro. Eliud and his wonderful family. Please, pray for them

Bro Eliud began the first message of the meeting by reading Hebrews 9:11-14:

“But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building; Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh: How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?”

The Old Testament priests made offerings for the atonement of peoples’ sins as well as theirs daily. Those Old Testament people had no power to live without continuous sinning. But God had mercy on them and gave them a method of obtaining forgiveness—-the daily sacrifices. They were given the law which was to be obeyed to get forgiveness. When the law was obeyed, the obedient one became just before God. This law did not have the power to get rid of sin from the world of the Old Testament people. But it kept the human race until Jesus came. It was only a venue to bring us to Jesus Christ (Gal.3: 23-27).

Christ came and made only one Offering for sin—His blood, which is able to cleanse us from all sin (1 John 1:7). This cleansing is for ever:

“Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God. Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the law; Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second. By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins: But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God” (Heb. 10:7-12).

Dear Ones, we need to present ourselves to Jesus completely and let Him take over our body, mind and strength. If we do not do this, we will not be able to serve God effectively while here on earth. So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple” (Luke 14:33). In Romans 12:1-2, we read:

“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God”.

We must offer ourselves to God through Jesus Christ. This is what we call consecration. It must be complete, total and without conditions.

The morning church had a lot of power as we read in the book of Acts and other parts of the bible. Peter and John were able to help the lame man walk through the name (power) of Jesus (Acts 3:1-13). Paul was able to do wonders in the power of Jesus Christ. Of the church, it is written:

“And by the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the people; (and they were all with one accord in Solomon’s porch. And of the rest durst no man join himself to them: but the people magnified them. And believers were the more added to the Lord, multitudes both of men and women.) Insomuch that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them. There came also a multitude out of the cities round about unto Jerusalem, bringing sick folks, and them which were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed every one” (Acts 5:12-16).

This first era church of God had power from heaven. But what is wrong to-day? Where is the power of Jesus? What is called the “church of God” seems to have deteriorated into a powerless dividing system that is full of wrangles, hate and strife and discrimination. Any one sowing discord is an enemy of God.

Each one of us needs to offer themselves totally to Jesus and become the temple of God (1 Cor.3:16-17). Unless this is done, we will always be a defeated church. We have to allow Jesus in us so that He could work miracles while using our bodies.

Rev. 3:20 “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me”. Because Jesus is locked out of the church these days, He is not blessing the church as He should do. We must consecrate our all to Him. People have rejected the light (John 3:19-20). The majority of us here have rejected the light and chosen darkness. As a result the church is not getting the necessary power. If you want the church to have power, please, choose the light and accept it. Let no one try to depend on the faith of another, not even the pastor’s faith. Only individual faith will work. You see, those Israelites who would not give themselves totally to obey the Law died in the wilderness. Only Joshua and Caleb made it to the promised land. Their faith could not help others get to the promised land. Your faith will not get me to God. Neither will mine get you there. Each must yield himself to God personally.

Most are just wearing the name “Church of God” and hanging it by their door posts, but they are worse than some of the Protestants and even the Catholics. It should not be this way. If we will be the true church of God, we must all be made new creatures (2 Cor.5:17).

Through Jesus, there are a multitude of benefits (Eph. 1:3-11). We are forgiven of our sins, then made heirs of God. Rev. 1:5 also shows these benefits. In 1 John 1:7, we see the other benefit—the benefit of fellowship.

Dear Ones, it does not matter even if we have to be as few as 2 (two)—wife and the husband?. Elijah and his servant were only two people but God declares in His word that there were more with them than the enemies were. It is the same today and that has never changed. Whether people mock, laugh at you because you are alone or few in the assembly, it does not matter. God and His angels are with you. Be encouraged Dear Ones. We are God’s vessel. God only uses a clean vessel. May we allow God to work from within, from the inside of us. Are you fully consecrated to God?

“COME UP HITHER”, By Bro. Lawrence Njeru.

Bro. Lawrence

Bro. Lawrence

He used Revelation 4:1 “After this I looked, and behold, a door was opened in heaven; and the first voice which I heard was, as it were, of a trumpet talking with me, which said, “Come up hither, and I will show thee things which must be hereafter.”

The exalted, (heavenly) place we get into through salvation.

To make it to the eternal home of glory, we must first get into the heavenly places, in Christ Jesus. This is described in Eph. 2:5-6: “Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus”. To understand this better, we will read some verses in Eph. 1:17-22

“That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,  And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,  Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all”.

In Christ, we are in the heavenly places. We must continue to live there while in the body and we must be found there when the Lord returns for His bride. This can only be accomplished if we only seek the heavenly things.

“If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth” (Col.3:1-2).

(a) All humans need to see, and acknowledge the great Power of God, His holiness, His goodness, His mercies, His justice and all else God is. This acknowledgment will produce a reverential fear of God in the heart of a person who would love God and receive Him in His life.  This kind of people can only be found where Jesus dwells and works (John 17:24). He now dwells and works, through the Holy Ghost, in His church, the one He has built with His own blood (Eph. 2:18-22). This is the heavenly place, every one is invited to come up to: “ come up hither…”. Those in the heavenly places constitute a family that exists on two levels of the house of God: heaven and earth (Eph. 3:14-15). It has only one door –Jesus Christ (John 10:9). It is only through the Spirit of Jesus that we can have the ability, the power, to live in these heavenly places (Rom. 8:9; 13).

(b) Jesus rose and after a short while, ascended up to heaven.

“And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight. And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel;  Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven” (Acts 1:9-11).

Yes, we undoubtedly believe that this statement in verse 11 refers to the second coming of Jesus Christ. I certainly do. But there is another angle to it that is often ignored by many, as a result of which the life and glory of Jesus is not received by many individuals now in this life. Jesus Himself declared: “I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you” (John 14:18). “Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you…..” (John 14:28). Jesus never left the church He builds, through His blood, like the “Jerusalem house” was left desolate (Matt. 23:37-38). He came back into the church through the Holy Ghost in order to empower the Church and fill it with Life (Himself) that produces the heavenly glory in every true congregation of the church and in every true individual member. It does not matter whether it is a single individual or a congregation. All that matters is the life of God in us, and the glory of holiness will be there for the world to behold.

1) In the scriptures we read, Acts 1:9-11, We feel the hunger the Disciples of Jesus had for the Life and power of God. Oh, what a yearning they had for the things they had seen in Jesus while He had been with them on earth in the body! His great power; His holiness, His goodness, His love, His faithfulness, His justice,……… No doubt, they wanted to live with Him for ever and be like Him. “Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled” (Matt. 5:6). Just by His gracious love, God plants this Life, His Seed, in us (1John 3:9).  It was not the fear of hell or of destruction that prodded the disciples of Jesus to want to live on in the glory they had seen in Jesus. It was a sincere love and reverence for Him who is the “LIFE” itself. Dear One, do you have this kind of love and reverence for God? We must tremble at His word, and not just try to bribe Him with  great empty words (Mat. 15:8), offerings of money, or things and actions. God cannot be corrupted through dances in worship, jibber jabbering in confused utterances, public praising of our personal holiness in entertaining or influential testimonies, continuous deliberate sinning and confessions, reading prayers from our books, and etc, etc. God is not worshiped with our bodies (Acts 17:24-25) but in Spirit and truth (John 4:23-24). “For all those things hath mine hand made, and all those things have been, saith the LORD: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word” (Isaiah 66:2).

2) They (the Disciples) hungered to be kept in this life of God, the special life that can never die. “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life” (John 5:24) . This life is only found in Jesus: “Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?” (John 11:25-26). They did not want this life taken away from them. Oh, what an example we have ! If we have such a hunger and thirst for the Life of God,  and then seek it diligently, we certainly will be filled. God is not a liar.

3) Oh Dear Ones, Do we love Jesus more than pleasure, wealth, fame, …..yes, even more than we love “our self”? Are we so truly dedicated to God that we can die so that God may get His due glory? Having the life of God, is living like Jesus. It is crucifying all our bodily lusts and desires; “And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts” (Gal. 5:24). Yes, we are dead to sin and alive to Godliness; In other words, Jesus is living His life in us; What is to be witnessed by the world around is only what  heavenly glory Jesus wants them to behold and be convinced that God sent Him to the world. We are a cloud of witnesses and the glory of God must be seen through us.

4) Dear One, God so loves us that He extends His Life to us. He wants to give His Life to us freely, even though we have done nothing to deserve it: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16). If you have that life, it must show in all aspects. “Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God (1 Cor. 10:31). “And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men” (Col.3:24). Dear Ones, are we sure we have that Life? No, it is not a believe so kind of a thing. It is a real experience, a real living the life of Jesus in our flesh. The Christian must live like Christ here on earth: “For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ” (Gal. 3:27). This is not in reference to the water baptism but the induction into the body of Christ (1Cor. 12:13).

In Isaiah 4:5, it is written: “And the LORD will create upon every dwelling place of mount Zion, and upon her assemblies, a cloud and smoke by day, and the shining of a flaming fire by night: for upon all the glory shall be a defence”. Yes, Dear Ones. This totally agrees with what Jesus declared in John 17:22: “And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one”. When the blood of Jesus Christ purifies us wholly, we are clean. The resultant life must be clean, perfect, just as our heavenly father is perfect (Mat. 5:48). We are given the mind of Christ, and therefore  we seek only those things above, and fix our affection on them. It is then our life is hid with Christ in God (Col 3:3). Christ is our life.

(c) This gives us a very clear picture of the pure church of God, the heavenly Jerusalem (Heb. 12:22). It is made up of all those individuals who are inducted into Christ through the regeneration into Him, the Life of God. This is the resurrection of the otherwise dead soul, the new birth. When our soul is saturated with God’s life, we are hid with Christ  in God. We are then in the heaven John was shown and we will appear with Christ in glory (Col.3:4). Dear Ones, the life I live is not hidden. Every one who sees me and hears me must know that I am either living like Christ or not.  I cannot talk even for one minute without you knowing if I am talking like Christ. It shows in all of my ways. It is the same for you. You cannot hide any where. I see you and hear you. When we all see and hear Christ in each other, we know that we are  hid in Him  in the heavenly places, the pure Church of God. Then. AND ONLY THEN should we give each other the right hand of fellowship, because we are all in the heavenly places.

Dear One, do you want fellowship with God?.

“That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ” (1 John 1:3).

In Christ Jesus, we are all in fellowship with God, and therefore in fellowship also with the true saints of God, the true church of God. Then “come up hither”. Leave your sins, your worldliness and your master, the devil and “come up” into Jesus , the Life. Jesus awaits you with open hands (Matt. 11:28). It is only then you will be able to see and receive the heavenly things of the Lord God.

“Knowing Jesus as the Lord”, By Bro. Lawrence Njeru.

A good number of people who were not in the service the first day had never heard any one preaching from the book of the Revelation. They were asking questions and wanting some body to preach from the book. They had heard others refer to a previous message and wanted to know what had been said. They were told to pray and wait upon God to direct His messenger that morning.

When the messenger stood up, He began by teaching the congregation why Jesus came. He began by asking the question: What does the name “Immanuel” mean”. Many knew the answer: “God with us” (Matt. 1:23). This refers to Jesus, who was born of the Virgin Mary. His mission was to save people from their sins: “And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins (Matt. 1:21). Who ever is saved from sins is not living in the sins any more; He/She should not. Jesus came to remove sin from any soul that would receive Him.

“And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin. Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him. Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous” (1 John 3:5-7).

Emphasis was made on the words: “whoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him”. How many today claim to know Jesus, but in fact, they prove by their sinful actions that they do not know Him? Every one who commits sin does not know Him. True. God is not a liar. Jesus taught that we should never commit sin any more after we are forgiven (John 8:11 and John 5:14). Whom should we believe? The preacher who teaches that we sin more or less every day or Jesus? Should we believe Jesus or the priest who wants us to sin and confess to him regularly?

This brings us to the book of Revelation. Let us turn to the book and  read from there now.

“The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John” (Rev. 1:1).

In this verse, we see some thing that many people have not yet seen. It is there in white and black. The book of  the Revelation is the uncovering, the bringing to view, of the Lord Jesus Christ. He is hidden to very, very, many people. In other words, the book of the Revelation has the truth that is leading people to know Jesus Christ. As we saw in 1 John 2:6, any one who commits sin has neither known nor seen him.

This tells us that sin hides Jesus from so many people. Isaiah said the same thing. “But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear” (Isaiah 59:2).

“To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices unto me? saith the LORD: I am full of the burnt offerings of rams, and the fat of fed beasts; and I delight not in the blood of bullocks, or of lambs, or of he goats. When ye come to appear before me, who hath required this at your hand, to tread my courts?  Bring no more vain oblations; incense is an abomination unto me; the new moons and sabbaths, the calling of assemblies, I cannot away with; it is iniquity, even the solemn meeting. Your new moons and your appointed feasts my soul hateth: they are a trouble unto me; I am weary to bear them. And when ye spread forth your hands, I will hide mine eyes from you: yea, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood. Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil; Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow. Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool” (Isaiah 1:11-18).

Yes, dear One. If any one’s soul is tainted with sin, he or she does not know God. There is a wall separating them from God. And it does not matter if you attend services in a certain place called “church of God”. Mere presence, and even the name of such a place will not give you the needed personal holiness. Accepting Jesus personally removes this wall of sin through repentance, forgiveness and receiving Him as the ruler, the Lord, of our life all the rest of the time we live. Without Him ruling us, our actions, words, and thoughts will not glorify God. He says truly: “…for without me ye can do nothing” (John 15:5).

The book of Revelation brings Jesus into view for the sinner, and keeps the holy one (the saint) seeing Jesus in order to follow Him. Without Jesus, no one can please God enough to receive His approval.

The glorified (risen) Christ of the Revelation hates and destroys sin.

“And I turned to see the voice that spake with me. And being turned, I saw seven golden candlesticks; And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle. His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire; And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters. And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength (Rev. 1:12-16).

John saw the risen Christ who had so great a glory that he (John) had just to fall down as if dead in front of him. Yes, it was a different Jesus from the one John knew before He was crucified. The One John knew before was so gentle with sin that He would even look at weak Peter and tell him, “But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren” (Luke 22:32). In the body, Jesus could bear with sin even to the extent of letting sinful Judas stay among his disciples. But in the book of Revelation, He is seen as the glorified Christ whose mere sight makes one tremble and fall down helpless. He is the all knowing, all wise, Christ who sees even the slightest sin and wants to burn it away.  He searches the hearts and nothing would be hidden from Him (Heb. 4:12). Wherever His feet would carry Him, He would burn away even the most secret sin. He wears holiness, the gown of righteousness, all over and is buckled up with nothing but the truth. To John, He looked as if the sun was shining in His strength. So when He is indwelling the saint, this sun of righteousness becomes our righteousness as He shines in our actions, our words and our thoughts. Those who have known Him and have received Him will let the light “so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven” (Mat. 5:16). This is for all the time ages and not just for a season, year or two. That is why He is standing between the seven candlesticks, symbolizing the perfect church of God of all ages. That is His role as the King of saints who must rule in His church, controlling the Stars—ministers –of His with His own hand. Without Jesus using and controlling His ministry, they would only lead a dead church. This is what we see to-day in many congregations—dead ones.

Daniel saw His (Christ’s) Kingdom.

And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever. Forasmuch as thou sawest that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it brake in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold; the great God hath made known to the king what shall come to pass hereafter: and the dream is certain, and the interpretation thereof sure” (Daniel 2:44-45).

It is a kingdom that cannot, and will not, be destroyed. Hence Jesus Himself says that His church cannot be defeated by the powers of darkness (Mat. 16:18). When He is directing, ruling in the hearts of His saint, and the saint humbly obeys, there will always be power to defeat the devil. Hence John says:

“He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God” (1 John 3:8-9).

The pagan powers tried to destroy this Kingdom of Jesus but they were not able to do so. Those powers fought the apostles of Jesus, and even killed almost all of them. We see them rising against Paul (Acts 19:21-28). Idolatry is a terrible sin in the eyes of God. We see it in the first kingdoms of the world whereby Nebuchadnezzar would destroy the Hebrew children if they refused to worship His idol (Dan. 3:8-27). It was idolatry, that pervasive element of paganism, that ruled in the hearts of the pagan kings, and rulers of Rome to cause the deaths of so many saints of God. Even today, we see that parallelism in the denominations of to-day. They have a form of idolatry whereby they worship their sects (through rulers, norms, dogmas and creeds) and if you do not bow to their sect’s idols, they persecute you in one form or another, if they cannot kill you. Just like Nebuchadnezzar would kill the three Hebrews, they would kill your soul with their “idolatry”. Yes, it is happening to-day. In some “church of God(s)” here in Kenya, one must kneel at their “altar to repent”, be baptized by them, accept their doctrine as taught by them, in order to be accepted and accorded membership among them. Formalities and conditions make you their member. The blood of Jesus Christ has been made worthless by these norms. It is all like the idolatry of Nebuchadnezzar and the old pagans. This is true to-day as it was in the morning church of God, in the dark ages and in the Protestant ages seen in Revelation 13.

God is shown sitting on His throne in His church in Rev.4. His church is seen all around Him and its role is spelt out as to worship and extol God only.

“And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come. And when those beasts give glory and honour and thanks to him that sat on the throne, who liveth for ever and ever, The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created. ” (Rev. 4:8-11).

If we are saved, that is what we must live to do in all our days. Dear One, are you among those now truly worshiping God or you are among those in sects, including “the church of God sects”? . Yes, I mean just that—“church of God sects”. These many divisions, each with its own form of leadership, rules, customs and spirit. How different are they from the Protestant sects? Division is not of God and it must be labeled in its true label—a form of idolatry that arises from whatever and whoever causes it. Christ has only one church seen as seven candlesticks on one bowl, foundation. On what foundation do you stand? We will leave it all to you dear One.

May God bless each one of His people with the knowledge of truth which makes each one of His true children free. We must live free from sin, free from the bondage of sects and  free from the bondage of “church of God Groupism”, if we will know Jesus and acknowledge Him as our King. If we do not, we will bow down to the image of “our group”.  To me, this is all like the pagan idolatry. Let us accept Jesus as our ruler. To know Him is to live free from sin through His power

“And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin. Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him” (1John 3:5-6).

This includes even the sin of division, what ever our excuse might be. It is sin just like adultery, lying, stealing or any other. If we know Jesus, we must let Him rule us. Amen.

“Walking with God”, By Bro. Edward Kamundi

“Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord (Rom. 8:37-38).

In order that one might live a victorious life while here on earth, a life that glorifies only God while in this earthen vessel–our body, one must fully give the body to God (Rom.12:1-2). This means that we, all who have known Jesus, must forsake all the worldly things to walk with God. Where are we walking to? To heaven, our eternal home in glory.

John 16:33: “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world”. Jesus overcame the world when He died and rose from the dead. While He lived in the flesh, He was an overcomer for He never committed any sin.

“For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps: Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth” (1 Peter 2:21-22).

His life here on earth, in the body, was an exemplary life. He proved openly to man that it was possible to live without committing a single sin. He even commanded us never to sin any more.

If we want to be victorious too, we must let Jesus abide in us and work using us through the Holy Ghost. When He is working using our body and everything else, it is then we are walking with God. “Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. (John 14:28). Through the Holy Ghost, Jesus is here with His saints. It is only when we walk after the Spirit that we are walking with God. He helps us live the Godly life.

Luke 3: 4-8: “As it is written in the book of the words of Esaias the prophet, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight. Every valley shall be filled, and every mountain and hill shall be brought low; and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough ways shall be made smooth; And all flesh shall see the salvation of God. Then said he to the multitude that came forth to be baptized of him, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come? Bring forth therefore fruits worthy of repentance, and begin not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, That God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham”.

Here we see what must happen if we are humble and have decided fully to walk with God. Our life must be a life without a single sin from the day we have repented until the day we die. Are you ready to live this kind of life?. Are you ready to walk with God till you die? He will lead you to heaven. But the devil will lead you to hell.

Finally, Isaiah 40:4-5. “Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain: And the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it”.

This is the day of salvation. It is the day when this prophesy of Isaiah is fulfilled. The glory of the Lord has been given to us who are His (John 17:22). This is the glory of a sinless life which must be experienced by every truly saved person and which must be humbly, respectfully, be lived before every one to see. The Glorious church of God has this life. It it is not experienced in any congregation you have access to. Stay away and let God fill you with His glory.  All in the true church of God are walking with God. Are you?

Conclusion:

The ministers who delivered the messages had notes made before hand, which has made this reporting very easy. As a result, we have given as much details of the messages as the Lord directed, with a sincere prayer and trust that all who read the report will be blessed. The Lord would not direct such a detailed report if He did not want to bless hearts some where. The message notes were written in Kiswahili and the vernaculars. The work of interpretation has had to be done to our very best as the Lord gave us the ability to keep the original meaning and truth in place. We thank God for the wonderful help in this.

This is Bro. David Ndwiga, the pastor of Mbuinjeru congregation. We held a meeting in his place some time back and the report was done. He was a blessing to us in way of admonitions

The meeting was graced by the presence of several other Dear ministers whose photographs we share with the reader. Their turns to break the bread of heaven will come in the future, if the Lord decides to use them, and if He tarries.

We did hope that the Lord would use Bro. Jackson to deliver messages in this meeting but as it was, the Lord did not see it fit to use him to preach as he was held up in other businesses on the second day while for the first day, he was not feeling very well.

Bro. Jackson Rugendo and His wife, Joyce Kagendo. They were a great blessing to the meeting. Sis. Joyce’s wonderful voice led in several congregational songs. They came with all their congregation behind them.

It was around Mufu that the great church of God revival in the area around Mt. Kenya broke forth in the 1990s. It was the centre around which several people came to learn the truth and it was here where several overseas preachers came to “proselyte” and get followers from. As they all preached the One church of God message, and since we were not fully grown spiritually as to know how to discern spirits, we were deceived that they were all true men of God. But in the end, they proved to be “sectarian church of God” preachers after only building their own sects of the “church of God(s)”. They bought followers for themselves and their organizations. Since the leaders of their campaigns were men greedy for money and for high positions, they had to go. They never had a burden for souls and they do not care to recover whoever they believe is not of their group. No single one of them has ever made any efforts to come to try to recover us because they know they are liars, for they say we are fallen from the grace of God. We are so grateful to God for sustaining us all through in many instances, through “thick and thin” to this present firmness in the faith once delivered to the saints.

It is a pleasure to share with you the picture of the two ladies who are so used of God in the Mt. Kenya area to spearhead this revival we are enjoying here. They sit in front of the congregation ready to help the ladies who kneel to seek help from the Lord. They help in everything done for the glory of God in meetings. They are Sis. Joyce (Jackson) Rugendo and Sis. Joyce (Lawrence) Njeru. They were present in all the services and they are precious in our meetings.

There were other ministers who came but we do not have their photographs. If the Lord permits it, we will share their photographs later. One such a minister is Bro. Michael Muriithi whose congregation is a few miles to the north of Mufu congregation. Bro. Michael is reaching out with the truth into Nyeri district and we are sure he would appreciate every saint’s prayers. We have others coming up in the ministry and at the moment, they are helping the pastors with their work. One such is Bro. Newton Kinyua of Kibugua congregation who is coming up very well and is assisting Bro. Jackson Rugendo in his ministry. Bro. John Ndwiga of Mbuinjeru congregation is a good helper to Bro. David. Another is Bro. Simon Mugendi of Mufu congregation who has stood staunchly against the divisive campaigns to get him fall to the “one work of grace movement” that has vowed to completely destroy Mufu congregation and get “all the members” to their side.

We expected this meeting to proceed for 4 days, but the Dear Lord had it only going for 2 days. There weren’t enough provisions for the other two days and He did not move any of the saints to fast. Besides that, He did reveal that the ministers who were in the meeting should be meeting for ministers’ bible studies for three days from every 1st Thursday of the month to Saturday, beginning with the month of September, 2009. It is a wonderful step ahead, Dear Ones, for which we thank and praise the Lord. Please, pray for the move, for the devil has already began to fight it. It has been reported that one of the angry people has already called another minister and reported that he would not be a part of the ministers’ meeting. We know that division is sin and we will not encourage it. But we must treat every one with love and we must live with peace with every one as best as it is possible from our side. Please, please, pray.

Finally we want to share with you some old pictures of the church as it was before the divisions took place. Mufu, which we are now trying to revive, used to be the Camp ground. We want to show the saints how terrible the sin of division is and that it destroys many souls. Many of the people you see in these pictures have gone back to worldliness whereas others have gone back to Protestantism as they would not be carried along by the evils that were embedded in the campaigns of the spirits of division, its destructive hatred and bitterness. It is terrible to destroy souls because of the love of money (1Tim. 6:9,10,11). Who will answer for the souls that are now dead? These pictures, (and others), were taken before the splits came whereby each group leader went away with his followers from the ONE church. We do not have recent photographs as of yet. Please, pray for the saints who wish to stand for the truth of God now.

This is a picture of some of those who attended a camp meeting before the splits came. Every one divided away ignored the Lord’s will for unity in (John 17:20-23).

Thirsting after God

“Whom have I in heaven but thee? And there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee.” (Ps.73:25).

ice water in glassThis writer’s whole heart and soul was turned toward God. All worldliness lay behind him. He was yearning for God, and as he caught a deeper vision of heaven’s glories and the greatness and the goodness of God, he exclaimed in eagerness,

“As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God.” (Ps. 42:1).

This is the passion and desire for God that needs to be burning in our hearts always as we live on this earth. God, our creator and the one we owe our existence deserves total reverence and absolute worship. It is in Him we live and have our being. He created us for His own glory and we should give Him all of it.

4. The Lord Jesus said that the Scripture must be _____________________ (Luke 24:44), even every ________ and ____________________ Matthew 5:18).

Note: A “jot” and “title” would be like the small marks that we use in English to dot an “i” or to cross a “t”. In God’s Word every book, every chapter, every paragraph, every sentence, every word and even the very letters themselves are inspired by God! It’s not just the “thought” that is inspired, but the very words and letters themselves! Those used of God to write those books of the Bible were men so sold out to God that God was able to put words in their minds and guide them in the writing. If one is not humble and docile, God cannot use him. We therefore need to learn to be humble and to be connected to God at all times so that He can use us in whatever He wants to accomplish through us. This can only happen if we love God with all our heart. Without this kind of love that keeps us always in fellowship with Him, God cannot come to fellowship us. Abraham was called a friend of God because he had this kind of love for God. Moses was so much used of God because he loved God insomuch that God could totally rely on him to accomplish all that he accomplished. It may also happen with us today if we are totally consecrated to serve God.

An excerpt from a Bible study…

Is there any reason to study the Old Testament? Yes! In Romans 15:4 Paul wrote:

“For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope.”

1 Corinthians 10:11 says, “Now all these things happened unto them for examples: and they are written for our admonition, (warning) upon whom the ends of the world are come.” KJV

34) The things written before Christ died (Old Testament) were written for our _______________

35) From what do we get admonition (warning)?______________

When we read of Noah, Abraham and David, we see how God rewarded them because of their faithful lives. When we read of Cain, Esau and Jezebel we see how God punished them because of their unfaithfulness. These things teach us about God. God’s laws are different today, but God’s attitude toward sin is the same.

36) Has God’s attitude toward sin changed?_________

CONCLUSION FROM OUR STUDY ON THE OLD AND NEW TESTAMENTS.

Christians live under the New Testament of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. We must do only the things commanded in the New Testament, which things the early church did, and as much more as the Holy Ghost reveals to us. Many wrong teachings come because people do not know the difference between the Old Testament and the New. Denominations teach their members to do the things which Jesus does not tell us to do, things which are not in His New Testament, and which therefore are not God’s will for us. We must listen to Jesus, not to Man. Jesus is our Lord (ruler) and not man.

37) Where do we find the commands for Christians?_________________
